Emmanuel Nzai Appointed Chair of Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board

President William Ruto has appointed Emmanuel Kombe Nzai as the new chairperson of the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board, effective from July 5, 2024. Nzai, a public policy professional known for his work in social innovation and economic development, will serve a three-year term in this crucial role.

Nzai takes over from Caroline Kariuki, who has chaired the board since July 2022. Prior to his appointment, Nzai served as the Chief Executive Officer of Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani Secretariat, where he spearheaded economic development initiatives across Kenya’s coastal counties.

Under his leadership, Nzai facilitated economic cooperation, policy harmonization, and investment mobilization aimed at fostering wealth creation and shared prosperity in the region. Beyond his professional endeavors, Nzai has also been involved in politics, having served as the running mate of Ekuru Aukot under the Thirdway Alliance party during the 2017 general elections.

The Kenya Vision 2030 initiative, launched in 2008 by former President Mwai Kibaki, aims to transform Kenya into a rapidly industrializing middle-income nation by 2030, ensuring a high quality of life for all citizens within a clean and secure environment.
