Businesswoman Anerlisa Muigai has publicly responded to a leaked WhatsApp conversation in which she sought financial assistance to cover her fiancé Josiah Kariuki’s bail costs. Kariuki, the CEO of Silica Booster Limited (SBL), was implicated in the distribution of counterfeit fertilizer and was charged on May 6 at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court.
Muigai’s message, seeking financial support from close contacts in a private WhatsApp group, was shared with blogger Cyprian Nyakundi and posted online. The leaked conversation revealed that Kariuki’s bail was unexpectedly set at a higher amount than anticipated, leading Muigai to seek help.
Josiah Kariuki pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on bail. Muigai’s public response to the leaked text aims to address the situation and clarify any misunderstandings.
