Government to Extend Term Two Calendar to Make Up for Lost Time, CS Machogu Says

The Kenyan government is planning to extend the Term Two calendar for schools to make up for lost time due to various disruptions, including floods. Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu made the announcement during an inspection of school infrastructure and flood impacts at Mathare North Primary School in Nairobi.

The extension of the Term Two calendar is aimed at ensuring that students are able to cover the necessary curriculum and complete the academic year effectively. Schools are set to reopen on Monday, May 13th, 2024, following the inspection and assessment of the situation.
