US Lawmaker Criticizes Exclusion of Ruto from Congress Address

United States lawmaker Richard Neal has criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson’s decision to decline a request for President William Ruto to address a joint session of Congress. Mr. Neal, Ranking Member of the Ways and Means Committee, called for equal treatment, comparing Kenya’s treatment to that of other international partners. He noted joint meetings with leaders such as Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and President Yoon Suk Yeol, arguing that President Ruto deserved similar recognition.
