Five Family Members Injured by Lightning Strike in Nakuru

Five teenagers from the same family are currently hospitalized after being struck by lightning in Nakuru County. The incident occurred in Karandit village, Kuresoi South, during heavy rains.

According to Emily Cheruiot, the mother of the victims, she had warned one of the teenagers about the dangers of using a phone during a thunderstorm. Despite her warning, the lightning struck their house at around 6:30 pm, causing all five teenagers to fall to the ground and start crawling using their stomachs.

Fortunately, Cheruiot managed to escape unharmed. The injured teenagers are currently receiving treatment in hospital as they recover from the effects of the lightning strike.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by lightning during thunderstorms and the importance of heeding safety precautions during such weather conditions.
