OpenAI, backed by Microsoft, has acquired Rockset, a search and database analytics startup, to improve its infrastructure for enterprise products. The deal, valued at a few hundred million dollars, is one of OpenAI’s largest acquisitions. Rockset’s expertise in real-time data processing and vector search will enhance OpenAI’s ability to quickly access and analyze vast amounts of information, improving the performance of its AI models. OpenAI aims to use Rockset’s technology to power the retrieval infrastructure of its enterprise products, such as ChatGPT Enterprise.
