Senator Okiya Omtatah of Busia has issued a stark warning to President William Ruto, urging him to consider the consequences of his actions and to adhere strictly to the constitution. Omtatah pointed out that South Korea has a history of jailing former presidents for their misconduct and implied that Kenya could follow a similar path. “We have a constitution, and within that constitution there are measures to punish people. There is going to come a time where we shall put them in jail for what they are doing today. President Ruto should ask himself how many former Presidents of South Korea have gone to jail. Does President Ruto want to be jailed when he leaves office? That is the question he should ask himself. He is not almighty, he must obey the constitution,” Omtatah stated.
